Virgin, UT – The world’s most extreme freeride mountain bike competition returned in 2025 with jaw-dropping lines, massive airs, and a historic slate of results. Held October 17–19 in the rugged desert cliffs near Virgin, Utah, Red Bull Rampage drew elite freeriders from around the globe to battle steep terrain, technical features, and high consequence drops that push the sport to its limits.

Men’s Competition — Rookie Takes the Crown

In a dramatic finale, 22-year-old Canadian Hayden Zablotny emerged as the 2025 Men’s Red Bull Rampage champion. After a fall in his first run, Zablotny staged a stunning comeback on his second attempt, linking together some of the event’s most technical and committed terrain. Judges rewarded his fluidity, amplitude, and trick execution with a top score of 96.00, placing him ahead of more seasoned competitors.

Zablotny’s victory marks a rare achievement for a Rampage rookie, signaling the rise of a new force in freeride mountain biking. Behind him on the podium were:

  • 2nd: Thomas Genon (94.35) — scoring his first Rampage podium after over a decade of top-level attempts.
  • 3rd: Tom Van Steenbergen (94.00) — a longtime Rampage standout known for pushing the sport’s creative and technical boundaries.

Full official results show a deep field of competitors with varied lines and styles. The top placements highlighted a blend of established talent and rising riders who brought their best runs to the demanding Utah terrain.

Women’s Competition — Back-to-Back for Goomes

The Women’s Red Bull Rampage continued its rapid evolution in 2025, with Robin Goomes defending her title in commanding fashion. Goomes secured her second consecutive Rampage victory with a high-scoring run that blended technical mastery with confident execution, earning 89.50 points.

Behind her were:

  • 2nd: Hannah Bergemann (89.33) — narrowly edged out for the win in a tight competition.
  • 3rd: Georgia Astle (87.66) — rounding out the podium with a strong performance among a tight field.

The women’s event highlighted both established stars and emerging talent, with riders pushing creative lines and bold features. Special honors included awards for standout efforts and trick execution, reinforcing the depth and skill present in the women’s freeride community.

High Drama and Athlete Resilience

The 2025 Rampage was not without its moments of high consequence. Two riders, including Adolf Silva and Emil Johansson, suffered serious crashes while attempting steep tricks, and were attended by medical crews and evacuated via helicopter. Both athletes were reported to be alert after their respective incidents, highlighting the inherent risks of freeride competition at this level.
